Our founder Eyüp Kaya, who established our companies operating in the environmental, energy, and waste management sectors, started his business life in the private sector between 1988-1992, dealing with investment incentives, export incentives, import permits, and company establishments. With the establishment of the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning in 1992, he began his duty as an environmental specialist at the ministry. In 1994, he resigned and established Serdar Engineering Environmental and Consulting Limited Company.
Over a quarter-century, Serdar Engineering has prepared hundreds of EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) Reports for countless firms, including 20% of our country's largest 500 industrial establishments, primarily in the cement and mining sectors. It has carried out the acquisition and follow-up of investment permits, non-sanitary establishment licenses, and business opening and operation permits. Today, it continues to provide engineering and consulting services to our country's large-scale industrial establishments and ministries on EIA Reports, Environmental and Investment Permits.
In 2004, Serdar Engineering started its facility investment in the waste sector and began waste recovery and logistics services in Kahramankazan district of Ankara Province with the license of the Ministry of Environment and in accordance with the EU Environmental Legislation through our company Serhat Waste Recycling Joint-Stock Company. Later, it established its second facility in Kula district of Manisa Province and introduced it to the Aegean region under the name of Süreko Waste Management. Our company Serhat Waste Recovery is currently carrying out the collection and separation of packaging waste, plastic recovery, packaging waste recovery, electronic waste recovery, fluorescent lamp recovery, production of waste-derived fuel for cement factories, as well as the transportation, logistics, and field management of all waste at its facility in Ankara.
Serdar Engineering started its investments in the renewable energy sector in 2014, opening its first geothermal resource operation well in the Eryaman district of Ankara Province, and offered it for use in the thermal health sector, specifically for physical therapy. Its investments in renewable energy resources and energy production from waste continue with Semih Renewable Energy Industry and Trade Joint Stock Company in the geothermal operation fields in Seferihisar and Çeşme districts of İzmir Province, and with the biogas energy and compost fertilizer production facility in Salihli/Manisa.
